Hosted ECP Context Servers

Terms & Privacy

Last updated May 5, 2026

ecp.dev is a free hosted way to publish an Endpoint Context Protocol context server. You can sign in, create an optional domain label, write an AgentWelcome.md file, and publish that file at a public delivery URL for agents and other HTTP clients to read.

Important

Your AgentWelcome.md content is public by nature. It is designed to be served to requesting agents, and anyone with the delivery link can read it. Do not publish secrets, credentials, private personal information, confidential business material, or anything you would not be comfortable placing on your public website.

What this service is

Endpoint Context Protocol lets a canonical URL serve different representations to humans and agents while preserving the same authority. ecp.dev provides hosted ECP Context Servers: public markdown context delivery, a browser editor, authentication, and the operating systems needed to keep that context available.

This is not a private file vault, a domain verification service, a legal compliance service, or a guarantee that agents will read, trust, or use your content. You are responsible for the context you publish and for making sure it is accurate, lawful, and appropriate for public distribution.

Accounts and published content

You may sign in with Google or an email link. We use that sign-in to associate your account with the ECP Context Servers you create. You may save drafts, publish versions, copy delivery URLs, and return later to edit or republish your context.

When you publish, your current AgentWelcome.md is placed at a public delivery URL and may be fetched by agents, crawlers, browsers, scripts, search systems, or anyone else who has or discovers the link. Removing text from a later version does not guarantee that someone else has not already copied, cached, indexed, logged, or stored an earlier version.

Optional domain labels

The domain or URL string you enter in the dashboard is a label for your own reference. It helps you recognize which context server you are editing. Unless ecp.dev separately offers and completes a verification process, that label does not prove domain ownership, grant authority over a domain, or create a verified relationship between you and that domain.

The label is not the published artifact. The public artifact is the markdown delivery link. Treat the label as a convenience field, not as a claim that ecp.dev has checked or endorsed.

Acceptable use

Use ecp.dev for normal ECP context publishing. Do not use it for spam, phishing, malware, credential collection, illegal content, harassment, impersonation, deceptive claims, automated abuse, attempts to bypass limits, attacks on the service, or anything that creates legal, security, operational, or reputational risk for ecp.dev, ECP, other users, or the public.

We may limit, suspend, remove, unpublish, or cancel any context server or account if we believe it is abusive, misleading, unlawful, harmful, security-sensitive, inconsistent with the purpose of ECP, or creating risk for the service. We may also take action to protect uptime, infrastructure, users, or third parties.

Free service; as-is availability

ecp.dev is currently offered as a free service. It is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties or guarantees of uptime, retention, durability, delivery, continued availability, particular behavior by agents, or fitness for a particular purpose.

We may change, pause, discontinue, rate-limit, or remove features at any time. We may change these terms as the service changes. If a change matters, the updated terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use ecp.dev after changes means you accept the updated terms.

What we collect

We collect the information needed to operate the service: the email address and name connected to your sign-in when available, the domain or URL labels you enter, your draft and published AgentWelcome.md content, basic account activity times, and the technical information needed to keep you signed in and deliver your published markdown.

We may also receive ordinary operational and analytics information, such as browser or device information, approximate usage data, request data, error data, and security logs. The service uses Google/Firebase for sign-in and includes Google Analytics configuration. We do not sell your personal information.

How we use information

We use information to sign you in, keep your session working, save drafts, publish public context, show your dashboard, operate delivery URLs, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, secure the service, understand basic usage, and respond to requests.

We use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, email-link sign-in, security, and delivery. Those providers process information for us according to their own service terms and privacy commitments.

Retention and requests

We keep account, draft, published, and operational records for as long as needed to run the service, protect it, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or maintain reasonable backups and logs. Because published AgentWelcome.md content is public, deletion from ecp.dev cannot remove copies already fetched, cached, indexed, or stored elsewhere.

You can ask us to review, delete, or correct account-related information where reasonable and legally required. We may need enough information to verify the request and identify the account or context server involved.

Liability and Florida law

To the fullest extent allowed by law, ecp.dev and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, exemplary, lost-profit, lost-data, lost-goodwill, service interruption, or reliance damages connected to the service or your published content.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The venue for disputes will be the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
